QSL: WURN Miami FL 1040

Actualidad 1040 AM (Un idioma, Todos los acentos, Una sola señal) was heard with a fair signal on Dec 28 at the Smøla location. It took a while before the reply came, but a very friendly email arrived today.

WURN is a little high in frequency, so quite easy to detect with the Jaguar software: 1040.022.

QSL: WAMC Albany NY 1400

The second part of December was good for MW DX-ers, and on the 23rd I heard a fair signal from WAMC, mixing with CBC Newfoundland, at the Smøla location. It took a while to get the report sent off but I received a very swift and very friendly response.

QSL: KFPT Clovis CA 790

KFPT "The Deuce" was one of several interesting stations heard on Jan 14, although it was also heard last October. A friendly email response came yesterday. KFPT belongs to One Putt Broadcasting, which also owns KFIG Fresno 940 and KYNO Fresno 1430. 940 is heard at regular intervals, 1430 not so since their main lobe points away from us. But one day!

QSL: WCMP Pine City MN 1350

Like with KAWL below, WCMP was heard on January 14 quite late in the day, but it was also heard last October. A short email today confirmed my reception.

QSL: KAWL York NE 1370

We had some very interesting conditions on January 14, both before noon and after. KAWL came in very late in the day. As always, the Director of Engineering at Nebraska Rural Radio Assn. sent an exemplary response in the form of a pdf QSL.

QSL: KNSP Staples MN 1430

Today provided some very interesting spot conditions, one period favoured the Minnesota area with several rarely heard stations with excellent signal strengths. And KNSP, which was new to me. Swift email response this evening. The verie signer has previously confirmed KWAD-920 and KKIN-930 for me.

QSLs: KROE 930 and KWYO 1410, Sheridan WY

Last weekend these stations were heard at the same time, KWYO quite good, KROE somewhat weak but legible. Friendly email this evening confirmed both. From what I understand, they share the same tower in Sheridan, and are co-owned by Sheridan Media. KWYO was my 20th verie on 1410.

QSL: CFSX Stephenville NL 870

I've been wanting this last, unheard VOCM network station for quite some time. With only 500 watts, and strong competition from WWL and Cuba's Reloj, it's not been easy. On Jan 3 it was audible for a couple of minutes, mostly music, but a reference to VOCM news at the end solved it. Since it was running in parallel to VOCM 590 I sent off a video recording to VOCM to prove I was not cheating, and got a very friendly response: "It took some tweaking using our Adobe Audition sound editing program to clean up the audio, but I could actually hear the female voice and the reference to Kento."

QSL: WNWC Sun Prairie WI 1190

I heard WNWC with a weak signal back in 2012, but the response I got wasn't conclusive. However, in late December it was heard with a very good signal during a daytime opening (thanks, OJ), and I sent off another report. Friendly response from the local Sun Prairie engineer today.
