Not often I target stations in Puerto Rico, however WCMN is a dominant station on 1280 on Smøla island, so I sent a report to NotiUno. Quick response today.

QSL: Star, Hamilton, New Zealand 1494
Heard on October 13 during a short, but intense opening towards New Zealand. Friendly response this morning. Star, previously Southern Star, is part of Rhema Media. Star from Wellington on 657 was also heard, but just barely. The 1494 transmitter is 3 kW and is shared with RNZ Parliament Radio. 15,850 km or just shy of 10,000 miles.

QSL: WYCB Washington DC 1340
WYCB surfaced briefly on Nov 11 with a full-hour ID, and I received a friendly response this afternoon. Only my second DC logging, but then there are only seven currently active stations.
QSL: KLVZ Brighton CO 810
KLVZ is another Mount Loran reception, and belongs to the same company that owns KLTT below. A timely fade by the dominant CKJS gave way for this one.

QSL: KLTT Commerce City CO 670
Thanks to OJS for spotting another super station from the super 1000 meter beverage at Mount Loran. Friendly email this evening. My 8th Colorado verie this autumn.
WSPR Update
I set up the KiwiSDR with the 310 degrees beverage for WSPR monitoring a few weeks ago. I mainly listen to the 160 meter band. Apparently I'm the northernmost member of the WSPR community. The map below shows the stations received by SWLKQ40LS (which is me) the past six hours. Transmitter power levels mostly 1 or 5 watts.

QSL: WITY Danville IL 980
I heard WITY on November 1, and after a couple of attempts a friendly response arrived this evening.
Tuesday, December 13, 2016
QSL: KJME Fountain CO 890
Another Colorado station from the super, 1000 meter Mount Loran beverage! KJME's current music format is all-Beatles, so definitely a niche market. I couldn't find a recent logo, so below is how they looked like when they ran a non-Beatles format. Thanks OJS & OF for v/s.

QSL: KTXW Manor TX 1120
Another QSL from the good opening at Smøla island on Dec. 6. OJS spotted this, and a friendly response came within hours today.
Thursday, December 08, 2016
QSL: KVOR Colorado Springs CO 740
KVOR was one of two total surprises within one hour on 740, a frequency where CBX Edmonton AB is an almost total dominant. But once again, the super 1000 meter Mount Loran beverage proved its capacity. Detailed response last night from the CE who's also an active radio amateur.

QSL: KUAZ Tucson AZ 1550
A technical glitch made this audible a few days ago, and Ole Forr spotted it. ID as "NPR 89.1". Detailed email this evening making it two AZ in a row for me. Who would have guessed.
QSL: KPXQ Glendale AZ 1360
KPXQ surfaced with a fair signal on top of the hour a couple of days ago, and a friendly email made a most welcome addition to my meager Arizona collection.
QSL: AIR Delhi, Rajdhani Channel 666; Indraprastha Channel 819
Caught late October when conditions were auroral and just about nothing at all was heard from North America. My two first MW reports to India since AIR Bhuj 1310 in 1977! Loads of Indian stations were heard these days so who knows, maybe more to come...

QSL: KSDO San Diego CA 1130
Thanks to Ole Forr I was alerted that KSDO, Radio Nueva Vida, was heard early in November. 1130 is usually a potent mix of 50 kW stations from across the continent, but at this time only CKWX was up, and as it faded down a few seconds after the full hour I got a good ID. Quick response tonight. KLTX 1390 Long Beach is more common, and was heard too with a better signal.
Monday, December 05, 2016
QSL: WBKK Wilton MN 820
WBKK took to the airwaves late 2012, and I heard them a few times that winter, but never with a proper ID. This changed this morning though. Very swift response to my report. WBKK is now part of the catholic Real Presence Radio Network, together with KWTL-1370 and KVXR-1280. Minnesota # 50.

QSL: WSUA Miami FL 1260
This Caracol station was heard back in 2012, but no response at that time. Good signal again some days ago, and a very quick response followed.
Wednesday, November 30, 2016
QSL: Coast 1359, New Plymouth NZL
Coast 1359 came up with a very good signal on their local midnight a week ago. Very swift and detailed response today. I actually heard the station during a super NZL opening back in 2008, but couldn't get a QSL at the time. Thanks OJS for v/s info.
QSL: WJTI West Allis WI 1460
Surfaced rather unexpected on the Mount Loran beverage when conditions were rather poor. Short email tonight confirmed my reception. Thanks OJS for the email address.
Tuesday, November 22, 2016
QSL: KGEN Tulare CA 1370
Surprising catch peaking well with "La Ley" slogans in October. Took a while to confirm that this was really KGEN, and took a bit more, including a call to the station from Henrik Klemetz, to trigger a friendly and detailed response! Thanks Henrik for lots of work! Thanks also Nigel Pimblett for removing any doubts this was KGEN.

QSL: KKTY Douglas WY 1470
We had massive signals from Wyoming for a while on October 24, and OJS alerted about this 1 kW, Classic Hits station. Detailed email received today. KKTY belongs to Douglas Broadcasting, which also owns KKTS 1580, heard in 2013 and occasionally after that.
Monday, November 14, 2016
QSL: KFRU Columbia MO 1400
October 25 at 0000 UTC was a good spot for Nebraska and Missouri, and KFRU surfaced with a good signal at the time. I received a friendly email response this evening, together with lots of photos from the station. A couple of them here.
QSL: WREL Lexington VA 1450
A most welcome response from WREL, heard on the good east coast opening on September 20. Signal quality was not at all good, but was confirmed and they attached an MP3 of the actual announcement.

Tuesday, November 08, 2016
QSL: KTRH Houston TX 740
A bit of a bombshell that KTRH could be heard through the massive signal from CBX Edmonton AB, but the Mount Loran beverage antenna continues to impress us. Quick email response today. Texas # 30.
QSL: DZAS FEBC, Valenzuela PHL 702
My attempts to log and QSL Philippine stations have been random and unfocused over the decades - too bad with the excellent location I have for DX-ing PHL. Be that as it may, I got DZAS with an excellent signal during auroral conditions last week, and received a confirmation today.

QSL: 6WA ABC Local Radio. Wagin WA 558
Finally heard Western Australia on MW! First spotted by Tore Johnny Bråtveit on this interesting opening on October 13, it had decent signal levels on top of the hour, mixing with a Thai station. Email response today. Wagin is located inland, near Perth.
The 50 degrees beverage antenna used is nowhere near suitable for hearing this part of Australia. One directed at 80-90 degrees would have been a lot more efficient. So we're planning a temporary beverage at a better direction next autumn. And Tasmania is next!

QSL: KXXJ Juneau AK 1330
After quite a few tries over several years, Ole Forr pointed me towards the person to contact for a verie. Instant response for a reception on Mount Loran today.

QSL: KWHW Altus OK 1450
KWHW surfaced briefly together with KWBE Beatrice NE on the Mount Loran beverage this morning, and sent an email to confirm this afternoon.
QSL: WOHI East Liverpool OH 1490
We do our best to entertain the fine people of Norway! So was the response from Kalen at "Pickle" when I informed that he'd been heard off the temporary 1000 meter beverage at Mt. Loran. Interestingly enough they don't even list 1490 on their home page.
Though from a separate and more detailed email the day after I did get the illustration below.

KASL was heard together with other rare Wyoming stations during disturbed conditions a few days ago. Quick response from the Manager today. Wyoming # 20.
Monday, October 24, 2016
QSL: KKPC Pueblo CO 1230
Today's third QSL came from this Colorado Public Radio outlet, and from the same person who confirmed KCFC Boulder CO 1490 seven years ago. KKPC surfaced alone on the frequency during a brief peak in disturbed conditions last weekend. # 50 on 1230.
QSL: KQNM Albuquerque NM 1550
Two Albuquerque, NM QSLs in just a few days, while I spent 40 years to collect the previous four New Mexico veries! KQNM was aquired by Immaculate Heart Radio this summer, and was heard with a good signal 10 days ago. Friendly response today.
QSL: KQNT Spokane WA 590
I've been trying to QSL this many times over the years. KQNT paid a surprise visit to Smøla island this weekend, and I decided to send off a new report to the station. Quick and friendly response! North American AM station # 1200.

The KiwiSDR - another write-up
After having tested the KiwiSDR a few weeks, I thought it was time to dig a bit deeper. Here is my story.
Thursday, October 20, 2016
QSL: KFIZ Fond du Lac WI 1450
I received this on December 8, 2015 but forgot to file it! I heard KFIZ again this morning and thought about sending a follow-up but checked my email first. A good choice.
Tuesday, October 18, 2016
QSL: KABQ Albuquerque NM 1350
While waiting for conditions to improve, it's always nice to receive a QSL. KABQ was audible a few days last week, and this morning an email from the announcer I heard, Bev Rainey, confirmed my reception.

Friday, October 14, 2016
QSL: 2CO ABC Riverina NSW 675
September 16 was a super day for Australia, and I missed probably the best part due to negligence. I did manage to get weak audio from 2CO though, which was confirmed yesterday.
QSL: WCAP Lowell MA 980
Heard at Smøla island in August. Email addresses bounced, thanks OJS who found a valid one. Brief confirmation received.
